Craniosacral Therapist

Craniosacral therapy is a light touch blend of physical and energetic techniques, derived from osteopathy. The logo below shows the craniosacral system in color; the brain and spinal cord (in purple) are cushioned in cerebrospinal fluid (in pink) which is surrounded by three membranes (in grey), also called meninges. The cerebrospinal fluid has a pulse, which is palpated to diagnose stress and strain. This core system connects with every part of the body. The client (of any age) lies fully clothed on my table while I work on this core system. CST is excellent for any human ailment.

Lactation consultation includes techniques and strategies to make breastfeeding easy and comfortable.  When those techniques and strategies don’t work,  CST (craniosacral therapy)  can make things much better.

Because mothers and babies sometimes sustain enormous physical, emotional, and spiritual trauma during birth, CST works because it is gentle and non-invasive while it opens the body to release the energy of that trauma.

Everything I do is designed to create harmony in the relationship between mother and baby.  I treat the mother first in a short session so she feels what is CST. Once she is comfortable and has some understanding of what I will be doing, she feels safe with me working on her baby.

Mothers enjoy the deep relaxation of CST. Babies always put my finger exactly where it needs to go in their mouth. They enjoy the occipito-cranial base release, as most of them have had their heads pulled on too much during delivery by hands, forceps or vacuum extractor. Babies love this work.

CST has helped babies breastfeed that never latched-on before. It has helped babies to feed at breast effectively, without hurting their mothers. It has helped mothers stay with breastfeeding when they were ready to give it up. It has helped mothers and babies release the psychic and physical energy around induction, forceps or vacuum delivery, cesarean section, intubation, suctioning, and circumcision.

CST helps muscles realign and work properly after tongue-tie release. It has helped adults to release tension and feel better.

My experience includes assisting at Upledger trainings and workshops.  I started using CST in 1997.

I offer craniosacral therapy to anyone who wants relief from:

  • Insomnia
  • TMJ problems
  • Stress
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Headaches
  • Arthritis
  • Hypertension

As with any therapy, a number of sessions may be needed to see lasting changes. I suggest to anyone that we start with three, and see how CST works for them.
